Skype For Business

As part of the Office 365 subscription the department now offers Skype for Business for AOS personnel. Skype for Business (formerly known as Microsoft Lync) allows for online collaboration and video meetings with up to 250 people at the same time. As it is part of the Office 365 suite, it seamlessly integrates with other Office 365 apps including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and One Drive.

Installers

Installers for Office 365 desktop applications including Office 2016 and Skype for Business 2016 can be found on the web portal.


After signing in, click on the gear on the upper right hand corner to display the Settings column, click on Office 365 at the bottom.

A new browser window will open, click on Software to install the latest version of Office (including Skype for Business)

Yet another browser window will open and you can download and install the software for your operating system by clicking install. You can install Office 2016 for up to 3 computers.

Signing On

Your sign-in address should be your AOS Mail email address. Click Sign in.

You will be prompted for your User Name and Password next.

Use EM-LOGON@ad.ucla.edu as your User Name like you would with the web portal and enter your password. Click Sign In again, allow Skype for Business to save your sign-in info for quicker access next time.

You will be prompted to allow UCLA's server to sign you in, click on “Always trust this server, do not show me this again” and then click on Connect
