Setting up PaperCut

Ubuntu

Step 1:

Download and install the latest PaperCut client. You may have to uninstall your previous version of PaperCut.

Step 2:

Untar the TAR file to /usr/local/papercut/client

tar -xvf linux.tar.gz /usr/local/papercut/client/

Step 3:

Open Startup Items by clicking on the Unity icon and searching for Startup Items

Step 4:

Select Add and name the program PCClient (supply a description for the application under the comment section)

Click Add

Step 5:

Select File System from the left hand panel

Step 6:

Navigate to: /usr/local/papercut/client and select pc-client-linux.sh

Click Open

Step 7:

Click Add

Step 8:

Open a terminal and execute:

./usr/local/papercut/client/pc-client-linux.sh &

OR

Launch your file browser Files (for Ubuntu/GNOME users)

Navigate to Computer > usr > local > papercut > client

Double-click the install script pc-client-linux.sh

Congratulations, you are now running Papercut.

If you have not already done so, please install whichever departmental printers you prefer.
